Spain and Catalonia Through Sujit Choudhry.

Sujit Choudhry is a professor of law at the University of Southern California at Berkeley. He is also the director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. He has had many years of experience when it comes to new countries wanting to build a constitution or countries that are transitioning to that form of government. Sujit Choudhry is also a well-known writer in the field of constitutional law. He has written many articles, reports and a few books on the subject. In an article for Sujit Choudhry speaks out about the ongoing crisis between Spain and Catalonia and how best to resolve this difficult situation.

Sujit Choudhry and many other experts in the field of constitutional law have come together to write an open letter to the governments of Spain and Catalonia. He wants the governments of both countries to come together for the benefit of all of the people. He hopes that the state of Catalonia will put the people first in the new constitution. The letter implores the Spanish and Catalonian governments to resolve their differences in a dignified and orderly manner. If the impasse between the two countries cannot be resolved the European Union and its fellow members will be undercut by these two feuding countries. As of now Spain and Catalonia and Spain are still hammering out the details of how Catalonia can become an independent state and keep its citizens and the people of Spain happy in the process.  Additional article to read on

Another point in the letter to Spain and Catalonia is that Catalonia may not be quite ready for the break from Spain as of yet. Heavy-handedness against Catalonia must cease in order to allow the people of the country to decide for themselves no matter what Spain’s government may think.
